Rose in Bloom

Rose in Bloom was written as a sequel to Eight Cousins. Rose has returned from a two year voyage to Europe, leading her aunt to wish her to be introduced into society. She quickly finds out her aunt wants her to marry one of her cousins in order to keep the family fortune within the family. Later t appears her cousin Mac is in love with her. Initially Rose dislikes him but his loyalty leads her to realise how much they have in common. Rose has new suitors also, too many infact due to her kind nature and great fortune. However towards the end tragedy once again strikes Rose as her Uncle Alec becomes very ill, but not all is bad as he eventually recovers. Rose is then re-united with Mac who had been away at medical school and declares she also loves him.
