Pauline’s Passion and Punishment

Louisa May Alcott wrote “Pauline’s Passion and Punishment”, under the pseudonym of A.M. Barnard in 1862. This short book is the first in a series of darker novels, “blood and thunder” tales.

The book follows a woman who takes her revenge for being deserted. In getting her revenge she is strong willed and unrelenting. The style of the novel was popular at the time, helping the novel achieve commercial success.
